Post AGM Board meeting

Your newly elected Board at our Annual General Meeting January 19 held its first meeting on January 26 to discuss and approve the three designated positions (President, Treasurer and Secretary) in addition to each Board member-at-large assuming various oversight roles for Club Activities.

We are pleased to announce that Teresa Joki, Jocelyne Bérubé and Ann Beniuk will continue as President, Treasurer and Secretary respectively; supported by the other Board members Martha Martinez, Linda Balon-Smith, Lee Abel, Shelley Dingreville, Bryce Paton and Bailey Loewen. An updated Board organizational chart depicting oversight responsibilities will be published in due course. 

Minutes of this abbreviated meeting are now available on the website members’ portal. The Minutes reflect our discussion around Board succession and continuity strategy. Key Board roles will each have designated ‘shadows’ to preserve organizational knowledge retention and backup in the event any Board member is not able to continue for any period of time. As part of that continuity strategy, the Board approved the appointments of Carolyn Catalano and Shelonie Cooley as ex-officio Board members bringing their years of volunteer engagement and experience with the Club.

Appreciation was expressed by the Board for the tremendous volunteer response to Linda’s growing fleet of Hosts and Collectors; and all members’ patience during the very busy morning peaks. Special afternoon sessions are helping divert players from mornings to the very popular Friday Ladders, Sunday Round Robins, Beginner lessons and recently launched weekly Skills N’ Drills. Afternoon Open Play is currently available daily except Mondays 13:00-14:30; Fridays and Sundays after 15:00. 

Courts 5 and 6 have lights for open play shared use by all Club Members.
